A new Terry towel jacket for the glass industry

Developed by our Design unit, this new marine jacket is made of a 100% double-sided 490 gr/m² cotton terrycloth with AFLAMMIT® flame-retardant treatment.

This treatment provides the fabric with resistance capacities, allowing the garment to be less combustible and flammable in the face of fire in order to reduce the spread of flames.

Our flame-retardant marine jacket has two elasticated ribbed cuffs made from para-aramid fabric for a snug fit at the wrists. The elasticated ribbing reduces the risk of hazardous components entering the garment and prevents the sleeves from snagging when the wearer moves.

The marine jacket also has a 50 mm velcro fastening along the entire height of the garment from the waist to the top of the collar. Velcro makes for fast and easy removal, and moreover makes this a metal-free PPE.

This category 3 PPE has CE marking and meets the requirements of EN ISO 11612: 2015.

Following the test relating to the EN ISO 11612 standard, the marine jacket delivers the following performances:

A:  behaviour against flame propagation = A1

B: resistance to convective heat = B2

C: resistance to radiant heat = C2

D : resistance to molten aluminium splash = D0

E : resistance to molten metal splash = E0

F : resistance to contact heat = F2

This new product is intended to be worn when approaching medium heat zones, such as in the glass industry, and/or under our aluminised garments in more intense heat zones.

For optimum protection, combine as required with other PPE (trousers, gaiters, gloves, IR shields for the face, etc.) and worn over flame-retardant garments.
